HARLEM RENAISSANCE DAY OF COMMITMENT® 2010

In June 2010, following a two year hiatus, ADC presents our Harlem Renaissance Day of Commitment® (HRDC®). The return of our popular Leadership Breakfast will feature 800 of New York’s most influential business, civic, philanthropic and political leaders, and will be hosted by our Founder and Chairman, Reverend Dr. Calvin O. Butts, III. Held at the majestic Great Hall of City College, ADC will honor outstanding individuals, to be announced, as recipients of the 2010 Harlem Renaissance Award at the Leadership Breakfast. Guided tours of ADC’s developments and greater Harlem will immediately follow.

HRDC was established in 1995 to celebrate the history, culture and indomitable spirit of the Harlem Community, as well as, a means to raise crucial operating funds that support our housing initiatives, propel our delivery of programs and services, and build our economic development agenda.

Distinguished individuals that have received the Renaissance Award include: President William J. Clinton, Jamie Dimon, CEO of JP Morgan Chase, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Kathryn Wylde, President & CEO of Partnership for New York City, Mortimer Zuckerman, Chairman of Boston Properties, Inc., as well as prominent visionaries in unique areas of community improvement and philanthropy, such as, Ralph Lauren, Bette Midler and Russell Simmons, among others.

Proceeds from HRDC allow us to make a significant impact on Harlem’s physical and economic landscape, as well as on the hearts and minds of the Harlem community. Our goal this year is to raise $1 Million towards funding our comprehensive efforts to sustain and enrich our beloved neighborhood.
