ADC’s Senior Services, based at Abyssinian Towers (Abby Towers), provides comprehensive support to seniors that enhance their quality of life, promote healthy aging, and enable them to age in place in the comfort of their home. Caring Senior Service staff provide a wide range of resources and information that help seniors live better independent lives, that include:  

  1. Case management: staff meets individually with residents to:
    • Assess health/social needs
    • Develop a care plan
    • Provide advocacy, referrals and resources
    • Collaborate with residents and their health care providers to ensure all medical needs are met
    • Encourage families to contribute so everyone can be satisfied their loved ones get the support they need
    • Assist with recertifications or entitlements.
  2. Fitness/Aerobics exercises
  3. Health & Wellness activities
  4. Social/Cultural/Recreational activities
  5. Educational workshops and presentations

Abby Towers and Ennis Francis Houses are also host sites for New York Common Pantry’s Nourish Commodity Supplemental Food Program, offered monthly to eligible seniors 60 years of age and older.

Abby Towers is part of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) 202 program that expands the supply of affordable housing with supportive services for the elderly. If you would like more information, please call 646-442-6599.
